Your Space

We come to you

What Is This?

We come to you and host a 2-3 hour training party in your living room. You'll learn with our dedicated training pistols that are either inert or permanently disabled and marked. No live ammunition is introduced by Tactical Snowflakes. No student-owned guns.

Instead of loud gunfire and pressure, you get clear explanations, hands-on practice, and space to ask every question you've been too nervous to ask.

By the end, you'll understand how modern pistols work, how to handle them safely, how to store them responsibly at home, and what to expect when you eventually visit a range with us or on your own.

What You'll Learn

  • The four core rules of safe gun handling (in plain language)
  • How pistols work: parts, controls, and what they actually do
  • Safe handling with training guns and snap caps (dummy rounds)
  • Home storage basics and Oregon-specific safe-storage concepts
  • What to expect at a gun range: safety rules, etiquette, and how to find a beginner-friendly facility
  • How to recognize unsafe behavior and what to do if you encounter a gun unexpectedly

Who It's For

Anxious or Conflicted Owners

You own or are considering a firearm but feel anxious, conflicted, or intimidated. You want to learn in a judgment-free environment before touching anything live.

LGBTQ+ and Left-of-Center

You're queer, trans, politically left-of-center (or an ally) and don't want to deal with far-right gun culture. This space was built for you.

Harm Reduction First

Safety and harm reduction, not tactical cosplay. If responsible ownership starts with education for you, not YouTube videos, this is where to start.

Friend Groups

Learn with friends at home instead of a crowded public range. Book club, neighborhood group, mutual aid org — bring your people.

Community Organizations

LGBTQ+ groups, neighborhood associations, and mutual aid orgs — bring practical safety education to your members in a setting you control.

About Our Training Firearms

Every training party uses inert training pistols. No live ammunition is introduced by Tactical Snowflakes during any training session.

We follow the same safety protocols at your kitchen table as we would at a range. Every participant can opt out of any part of the session, no questions asked. Our instructors are trained to read the room and move at the group's pace.

What Comes Next

After this class, range sessions are available for up to two people at a time. It's live fire under close supervision at an established shooting facility, queer- and ally-friendly. No pressure. Go at your own pace.

Common Questions

What space do I need?

+

An average-size dinner table. That's it. We need enough room for everyone to sit and handle training firearms comfortably.

How many guests should I invite?

+

4-6 people is the sweet spot. Small enough for hands-on instruction, big enough to make it a real event.

Can kids be present?

+

No. Training parties are adults only.

What if someone feels uncomfortable?

+

They can step out anytime. No pressure. Anyone can sit out any part of the session, no questions asked.

Is there live ammunition involved?

+

No. We use inert training replicas — non-functional firearms with no firing pin and no ability to chamber a round. No live ammunition is introduced by Tactical Snowflakes during any training session.

Can I bring my own firearm to the party?

+

No. Student-owned firearms are not part of the training. We bring all equipment — training pistols that can't fire.

Do I need to be sober?

+

Yes. Sober participation is required. This is a safety class, and we treat it that way even though no live firearms are present.

What's the cancellation policy?

+

48-hour advance notice for a full refund. Life happens — we get it.

What happens after the party?

+

Range sessions are available after the party for up to two people at a time. It's live fire under close supervision at an established facility. Others just wanted the fundamentals and they're set. We'll help you figure out the right next step.

How do guests split the cost?

+

That's between you and your friends. Most hosts split it evenly or use Venmo. Some cover it entirely as a gift. The host's spot is always included in the flat rate.

Can I host a party if I already own a firearm?

+

Absolutely. Many hosts own firearms but have never had formal instruction. We start with safety rules regardless of experience level.

What if someone in my group has anxiety about firearms?

+

That is extremely common and exactly why this model exists. No one is ever required to handle a firearm. Participants can observe any part of the session. Our instructors are trained to read the room and move at the group's pace.
